Job Description
Banquet Health is rebuilding the infrastructure that powers nutrition in hospitals, where food is both medicine and logistics. As a seed-stage startup based in SF and NYC, they're backed by leading healthcare investors and are building a cloud-based, user-centered platform that layers in AI-driven workflows to streamline operations, reduce risk, and amplify staff impact. As a Senior/Staff Software Engineer, you'll be joining their early team and will be responsible for building impactful features end-to-end across React, TypeScript, Postgres, and AWS Lambda to improve real workflows for staff and patients. You will design robust, extensible systems, shape how AI works for healthcare, and collaborate with product and clinical teams.
The role involves owning the full project lifecycle, from clarifying goals to improving after launch, and co-owning the engineering culture by refining processes. The compensation for this role ranges from $180K to $220K, with equity ranging from 0.35%-0.5%. With a hybrid work policy, this is a great opportunity to shape the future of healthcare and integrate AI in meaningful ways.
Responsibilities
- Build impactful features end-to-end across React, TypeScript, Postgres, and AWS Lambda to improve real workflows for staff and patients
- Design with intention and create robust, extensible systems built for the realities of clinical environments
- Shape how AI works for healthcare from accelerating development internally to streamlining frontline workflows
- Collaborate on critical tradeoffs with product and clinical teams to balance safety, usability, and automation
- Own the full project arc from clarifying goals, shaping architecture, and managing risks to improving after launch
- Co-own our engineering culture by raising concerns early, refining processes, and making every release smoother than the last
Requirements
- 5 - 8 years of experience in software engineering, with an emphasis on AI and backend development
- We can flex up to 9–10 years max, but not beyond
- Open to candidates authorized to work in the U.S., including U.S. citizens, Green Card holders
- Visa sponsorship not available
- We are pausing the admission of H1B transfers
