Job Description
Closure, backed by Y Combinator, CRV, Hawktail, Liquid2, and Adverb, is dedicated to helping law enforcement search evidence and solve crime. Their software accelerates investigations into major offenses by reducing digital evidence overload. The team includes ex-Palantir and ex-IDF engineers who’ve built national-scale systems. As a Founding AI/ML Engineer, you'll shape Closure’s AI backbone by processing massive video, audio, and text datasets to surface investigative leads. The role spans backend infrastructure and applied ML, including building retrieval pipelines, integrating LLMs/VLMs, and deploying secure, distributed systems. You will be comfortable shipping end-to-end, from data flow design to production deployment in sensitive environments, and thrive in fast-paced, high-impact settings. This is a great opportunity to be a founding member of a fast-growing company with a clear mission to bring technical excellence to public safety. They offer a salary of $125K–$200K depending on experience, meaningful founding-level stake equity, free lunches/dinners, a 3% 401(k) contribution, unlimited PTO, and full health/dental benefits, as well as gym reimbursement.
