Job Description
Loop is seeking an AI Engineer to join its growing AI team and build AI models and features that directly impact the company's business. Loop is utilizing AI to automate complex back-office workflows and tasks, and the engineer will face and solve complex technical challenges while receiving guidance from the team. The work ranges from training and deploying in-house multimodal LLMs, scaling inference infrastructure, and building AI agent workflows. This role will help define how the AI and broader Loop team will grow. The primary focus is on document extraction and understanding, using multimodal LLMs to extract, normalize, and link data into Loop’s domain model. The machine learning platform requires reliability and scalability, expecting training and inference volume to scale significantly. The role also spans ML modeling, ML infrastructure, AI engineering, and backend engineering. Projects may include scaling up the throughput of Loop’s inference engine, fine-tuning multimodal LLMs, and building agents that audit freight invoices. Loop offers a hybrid work policy based in their San Francisco office with the expectation of 3-5 days per week in office. Salary ranges from $130K - $200K.
Responsibilities
- Train, evaluate, and deploy models
- Scale data infrastructure, training, or inference, improving reliability of ML systems at Loop
- Utilize and orchestrate API LLM models to solve business problems at Loop
- Build out atomic tasks, general backend work in the servicing or automation domain
- Scale up throughput of Loop’s inference engine through continuous batching
- Develop ways to fine-tuning multimodal LLMs to reduce hallucinations
- Build out agents that audits freight invoices
Requirements
- 1-3 years of experience in deep learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, Tensorflow, etc.)
- Open to new grads if they have a CS degree from a top university
