Principal Software Engineer-M365 Copilot Hub

Microsoft's M365 Copilot Hub team is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to lead the development of high-performing, scalable frontend experiences that power AI productivity solutions. As a Principal Software Engineer, you'll architect frontend foundations enabling teams across Microsoft - including Create, Copilot Notebooks, and Copilot itself - to deliver seamless, intelligent productivity solutions. You'll lead the design and implementation of frontend patterns and performance strategies, working closely with engineers, designers, and researchers.

Key responsibilities include:

• Designing and implementing scalable frontend systems using React, TypeScript, microfrontends, and modern rendering stacks
• Partnering across Microsoft teams to evolve shared frontend platforms and define reusable architectural patterns
• Leading architectural decisions and contributing hands-on code to advance frontend engineering
• Applying data-driven approaches to optimize performance using telemetry and experimentation
• Mentoring engineers and fostering technical excellence

The ideal candidate brings 6+ years of technical engineering experience, deep expertise in modern frontend technologies, and a proven track record of delivering performant, accessible experiences at scale. You should have experience leading complex frontend systems and elevating engineering practices across organizations.
