Seeking advice for Google interview – Early Career, Campus 2025

I have an upcoming conversation with a Google recruiter for an early career software engineering role. She mentioned that the call isn’t an interview, but rather an informational session about the interview process and timeline. Still, I want to prepare thoughtful questions that could help me when the actual interviews begin.

Any advice on what to ask?
Also, how can I politely ask to schedule the interview further in advance to give myself more time to prepare, without making a bad impression?

This is almost certainly a light behavioral-style round: https://www.jointaro.com/course/ace-your-tech-interview-and-get-a-job-as-a-software-engineer/recruiter-screen/

It's possible that the call is purely tactical and all they do is rattle off the logistics over a call, but it's probably best to do some behavioral interview prep anyways. Go through the behavioral interview course: Master The Behavioral Interview As A Software Engineer

I think given your context, it's not likely you can fail this round, but I wouldn't count on that. I have seen a ton of engineers fail supposedly "freebie" recruiter screens. Play it safe and go through the course.

Thank you so much! I had 2 out of 3 questions from that list. Even though I only had two days to prepare, the conversation went very smoothly, and I just received an email to schedule the next round of interviews.

I think you need a week max. New grad positions fill up fast. You don't need that much time to prepare for these rounds.

Once you pass this round, then you can think about spacing rounds out for preparation. But in the meantime, don't worry about this.
