What are some of the locations one should move to for the best career growth?

US has a lot of big tech and startups. India has seen some growth in recent past as well. What are other locations worldwide where one can propel their career with good compensation and growth ?

I am thinking about this, more from a long term perspective, in terms of getting a Permanent Residence and moving with my family there.

Just from what I've heard from friends and coworkers (I've only worked in the US), among what you haven't mentioned.

Tech friendly, in no particular order

    1. Singapore
    2. Tel Aviv / Israel
    3. London / UK
    4. Zurich / Switzerland
    5. Vancouver+Toronto / Canada
    6. CA, PNW, Texas, NYC / USA

Immigration wise I know USA and Canada have clear paths to Permanent Residency for tech workers. This sounds like the type of question that chat gpt could answer pretty well.

Here's a Taro blog post comparing major European tech hubs that may be helpful: https://www.jointaro.com/blog/a-comparison-of-european-tech-hubs-amsterdam-barcelona-and-london/

Adding on to what Kuan said about Canada, Waterloo is pretty exciting as well due to the school. I heard there's a vibrant startup scene there.

All that being said, when it comes to career growth, it is very hard to compete with Silicon Valley as I talk about here: "How important is location for software engineers?"
