Hi guys, I am struggling with frequent EM changes in my current team. I understand the company also struggling to find the right person, however, there would 4th an EM in our team for the last year. With every change, it was a bit stressful for me because I could not make a good relationship with not all of them, how to deal with this kind of situations?

in my feelings, I am changing my company when every new manager joins the team.

Sorry to hear about this - I'm no stranger to manager thrash as well. It's rough, and there unfortunately isn't a great solution here. Relationships take time to build and if you're switching managers every <6 months, it's near impossible to forge a meaningful relationship with any of them. To help though, I recommend this discussion around how you can make the most of working with an inexperienced manager.

    Some other thoughts from me:

    • Maybe you can deliver some upward feedback to your skip? Assuming good intent, maybe they aren't aware their reorgs are hurting the ICs so much.
    • Switch organizations or companies - If you feel like this is seriously hurting you and there aren't clear signs this thrash will improve, I recommend thinking about this. 4 EMs in 1 year is insane. Getting promoted in this environment will be impossible, and I imagine it's pretty stressful as well.
