Promotions are hard if you just rely on hard work; you need to learn how the game works!
Hint: Find out who the decision maker is and schedule regular meetings with them to ensure you are meeting all the criteria. Nobody will tell you to do this!
Review the up or out policy, as it makes no sense to lose good people that don't always want to progress higher.
