As a fresher, you may start with a role that is not valued in the market, and sometimes it becomes challenging to change it to make yourself a more capable software engineer.
The managers I was under were really understanding and cool. But in exceptional cases, some middle managers are lethargic and neutral about letting people find their aspirations and goals. If this case is the same everywhere, it's the same here as well.
