Some good people with good intentions are trying to fix this place, but those people have no influence on the direction of the company.

Be careful of the fake 5-star reviews. I suspect these were added by HR or the senior leadership.

This is really a Chinese company, not Australian. The majority of the engineering workforce is based in Shanghai. The CTO and other early engineers who are based in Shanghai have very low standards. They often take shortcuts and leave a mess behind for others to clean up.

Please do a quick search on LinkedIn before deciding to join Airwallex to see how long on average employees last in this company. I bet it won't look promising.

• Toxic culture that is largely dominated by non-technical managers. Engineers are treated as second class without a doubt.
• Uninspiring senior and executive leadership which micro-manages everyone.
• Company culture is incompatible with western and Australian values.
• The standard for the engineering practices is the lowest I have seen and I have worked for several successful startups in the past.
• Because the company is dominated by a Chinese work culture, expect to be measured by a standard that you won't like.

You need to save the company from yourselves.
