Everybody is pushy and aggressive and cares about promotion only.
A lot of over-engineered code, just because somebody had to promote.
One of the metrics for promotion is the number of comments on pull requests. This blows in the face of SDEs, of course, because you'll have random questions on your pull requests, some of them not related to the current PR.
