Java Developer Interview Experience - Singapore, Singapore

October 1, 2014

Process

I knew about this position and applied through Stack Overflow.

The first round was an online technical test with three coding questions. One question was quite easy, and the other two were at a medium level. It required good knowledge of Java core concepts to complete all three.

I managed to pass this round and was shortlisted for the online interview after one week. The interview was conducted via Skype. I spoke with a Technical Recruiter from the Atlassian office in Sydney while I was in Singapore.

The interviewer maintained a poker face throughout the entire interview. He started by asking about my experience and some general technical questions, then proceeded to ask questions to check my background.

I believe I made a mistake by not doing enough research about the company, its products, and what it's like to work in Sydney/Australia.

One week later, they sent an email informing me that they would not proceed with my application.
