The interview process began with an initial HR screening, where we discussed my background and general fit for the role.
The second round was with the hiring manager and a senior principal engineer.
They primarily asked basic questions about my past projects and my role in them. However, it seemed like the interviewers were not entirely sure about what they were looking for in a candidate.

Pros: Autodesk has a very progressive culture and work environment. Diversity in all aspects is respected. Development teams have latitude to make decisions. Work conditions are flexible, and there are great opportunities to improve your skill set. Managers regularly ask employees what training they are interested in. Many of the staff in the Calgary office have been with Autodesk for 15+ years. Once you join, you will never want to leave. It is truly that great.
Cons: The Calgary office is small by Autodesk standards. Opportunities for a management career are limited if a person wants to stay in Calgary.

Pros: The company makes (now more like maintains) software products that help engineers, architects, draftsmen, and other professionals do their job.
Cons: In the last few years, Autodesk abandoned investment in R&D to save money and deliver higher returns to investors. It is milking its hero products and not innovating.

Pros: Smart developers working on some of the more interesting and challenging kinds of applications. Senior management has a good direction for the company.
Flexible environment--easy to work from home.
Cons: Salary increases and fringe benefits are meager. It doesn't feel like the company is growing. People in the office lack confidence in middle management.
