Process

I really enjoyed the interview process.

The interviewers were very friendly, and the culture of the company is amazing.

During my interview, I only had one interviewer who was acting weird. Other interviewers were very helpful.

Block Work Experiences

Haters gonna hate, but I kinda like it here

Senior Software Engineer • Current Employee

San Francisco, California, United States

Pros: Work-life balance, compensation (for how much we work), and somewhat interesting projects.

Cons: It's not a FAANG? *shrug* Mileage highly varies depending on the team.

Worse

Senior Software Engineer • Current Employee

February 10, 2026

Pros: The engineers are good and collaborative folks.

Cons: The leadership at Block has moved away from its original values, pivoting toward a high-pressure environment defined by aggressive PIPs and same-day layoffs. While the company is adopting the "ruthless efficiency" model of firms like Meta, the total compensation (TC) remains uncompetitive by comparison. It is no longer the employee-centric workplace it used to be, and the rewards don't currently match the risks.
