Received a response from HR within 3 weeks.
Following that, there were two technical phone interviews and one on-site interview. The on-site included both technical and behavioral interviews.
All the people from Bloomberg were patient and very nice. Visiting the Bloomberg headquarters during the on-site interview was a great experience!
This is my top choice if you want to work in a financial-related IT company in NYC.

Pros: - Lots of great training; they really spare no expense in inviting some of the best people in software to come and train their employees.
- New graduates are given 11-14 weeks of software training, with emphasis on C/C++ and also Bloomberg proprietary technologies.
- Beautiful offices.
- Talented employees.
- Great employee benefits.
Cons: - Still more of a financial company than a technology company, despite trying very hard.
- The emphasis on rapid code deployment can really diminish the quality of code.

Pros: When free food is the biggest perk you can think of, there isn't much else to like.
Benefits are good too, I guess.
And since they hire a lot of fresh-out-of-college grads, it can be a good starting place.
Cons: The work is very unsatisfying on all levels. New technologies are seldom used. There is a lot of work pressure and a lot of workload. HR doesn't care two hoots about you in any aspect. The work is boring and tedious, the environment is very closed, very hierarchical, and very bureaucratic. There are very few career growth prospects. The learning environment is very narrow, as teams are not encouraged to learn from each other and/or collaborate.

Pros: For a developer: Good projects, great opportunity to learn UNIX/C/C++, some pretty smart folks, and resources to draw upon.
Cons: Stuffy and arrogant culture, "big-brother" mentality, rude managers abound. Definitely not a good place to stay for long.
