Senior Software Developer Interview Experience - New York, New York

Negative ExperienceGot Offer

Process

The process started with a phone interview, followed by an onsite interview.

During the phone interview, I was asked a binary search problem.

For the onsite round, I had some difficult interviewers. They asked about 50 miscellaneous questions, such as:

  • Tell me all the sorting algorithms you know.
  • Tell me all the functions you know that handle locking in multithreading in Java.

There was no whiteboard. Instead, two interviewers observed what I wrote on a piece of paper throughout the interview. I patiently worked through the problems, knowing that I would not want to work with them.

Questions

Please provide a list of all the sorting algorithms you know.
