Process
I was interviewing for a position in the MARS team.
First round: 1.5-hour online screening.
- One hard LeetCode problem with a lot of additional questions.
Second round: Virtual onsite.
- First call: 1.5-hour coding challenge (another hard LeetCode problem).
- Second call: 1.5-hour system design.
It was a very strange (and bad) experience. After I walked my interviewer through my background on the system design call, he seemed disappointed, and the last hour felt like a waste of time (he wasn't paying attention to my design and was doing other things on his computer in parallel).
On the other hand, I really enjoyed talking to all the other people at Bloomberg.
