Pros: Tough to get fired because of the union. Compensation and perks are decent but nothing flashy. You can get overtime depending on the group.
Cons: Will have to wait for old people to retire or be laid off to have a chance to move up.
Raises are capped by a union contract. The company can go beyond this if they wanted to retain more people, but they choose not to, and many ambitious people leave within a year or two.
The company is focused on providing benefits to shareholders over customers/employees.
