Interviewed for a Senior Software Engineer position at Canva (Sydney) virtually in May 2024.
After an initial screening with HR on basic OOPS concepts, followed by a technical interview, I was considered for a Backend Engineer position only. I was rejected based on the consolidated results of system design, programming language fluency, and behavioral rounds.
Technical Interview 1:
- Implemented an interface with Power generator, Capacity, and Area.
Technical Interview 2:
- System Design: Designed a WhatsApp/Facebook-like chat app.
- Programming Language Fluency: Implemented an interface for a Design editor and made test cases pass. I was questioned on making the main class reusable by multiple projects.
- Behavioral: Answered general questions on conflict management and team communication.
The overall process was smooth. I received responses for each round within two days of completion.
