I received an email to appear for a walk-in interview on November 19, 2017. The position was for candidates with 2-10 years of experience in Java, Spring, and Rest. I thought it would be a good opportunity, but I did not expect such unprofessional behavior from a company like this.
The time mentioned in the email was for candidates to appear between 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM at Celebrum IT Park, Pune. I arrived around 9:45 AM. At 10:15 AM, all resumes were collected, and they began calling in groups of 10 people for interviews.
However, at 12:30 PM, a lady announced that candidates with less than 3 years of experience should leave, as they would only be interviewing candidates with more than 3 years of experience. After waiting for 2.5 hours, we were told to go back.
We even tried to explain to the lady that the email specified experience from 2-10 years. The number of candidates was not more than 180, and we were willing to wait. But the lady remained silent, offering no explanation other than that our interviews could not be conducted. She then went back inside the chamber and did not return.
If the company was not interviewing candidates with less than 3 years of experience, why did they send incorrect information in the email? It was a waste of our time and money, as I live in Hinjewadi, which is about 25 km away from the office location.
This was a really bad experience for me, as well as for many other candidates who appeared for the interview. Such unprofessional behavior leaves a bad impression on candidates.
