Pros

Possibility to become an architect in less than 5 years. Multiple projects, multiple experiences in a short time. Client projects often with complex architectures allowing for growth. DevOps tools available (but little used). Job stability. Quick responsibilities to take on if one invests themselves. A salary of an engineer even if one has no experience or potential, even if one barely speaks and writes French!

Cons
  • Lack of seniority, almost no experts (in the TRUE sense of the word...)

  • No funding outside of projects since site managers are evaluated on the imputation percentage (innovation time, AVV, training are almost impossible to obtain).

  • Employee interest comes after hierarchy, then profitability, then the client, meaning listening is nonexistent.

  • Projects with obsolete technologies, large clients not liking change.

  • Underqualified and unmotivated development population.

  • Passion increasingly rare in all employee categories.

  • Internal expertise increasingly difficult to find.

  • Incompetent (technically and organizationally) and retrograde management, old-fashioned top-down.

  • A lot of "corporate BS".

  • Recognition gained through relationships, not competence.

  • Salary increases based on seniority; avoid being too far above the average to prevent frustration.

Advice to Management

Les talents digitaux sont maintenant rares et les projets complexes. Compter sur la motivation naturelle des plus jeunes ne fonctionne plus.
