The interview process began with a recruiter screen, followed by an online assessment on CoderPad. Passing this led to a virtual onsite interview.

The interviews were generally easy and straightforward, with the exception of the onsite coding round. This particular round was poorly conducted by the interviewer.

1st Round - Coderpad

• 2 easy questions
• 1 medium question
• 1 hard question

Power Day (on-site) - 4 back-to-back interviews:

1st - System Design: Design a smart meter for an apartment complex.

2nd - Coding and Task Execution: This was a very ambiguous and open-ended question with no sample provided. You needed to implement some functions. The interviewer lied, stating that working code was not required. This was not the usual algorithmic interview. At least the algorithm should have been defined. The interviewer, who was the lead of the Test Engineering team, was rude and conducted the interview poorly. She never answered questions asked and stated there was no right or wrong solution. She turned off her camera and took a long time to respond when questions were asked. She also left her laptop for a few minutes mid-interview. Capital One, please ensure this individual does not conduct further interviews.

3rd - Case Interview: A case interview on a chatbot. The task was to suggest improvements.

4th - Behavioral: Standard expected questions.
