Interview with the Recruiter
I was sent to their interview funnel through CodeSignal.
I declined their CodeSignal assignment, which is part of their funnel. There are some companies making a living out of these interview processes (CodeSignal, Triplebyte, HackerRank, etc.).
Hiring companies (including Capital One) just send you to their standardized test and make you go through their 'funnel' – you are just another unit in their statistics.
To me, companies are not doing a good job assessing your real skills for the specific job. For example, the job that I applied for had little to do with the sample test that I saw on CodeSignal.
Additionally, because companies like Google and Microsoft were successful early on by hiring 'solve the algorithm' type of engineers, many other companies assume that doing a similar process will make them hire the right candidate and be successful like those companies.
Don't buy into that. Make them do better.
Just a standard CodeSignal assessment.
