Software Engineer Interview Experience

Process

First, a code signal test. Then, a power day.

The coding interviewer didn't even understand the question himself. He kept asking me to explain how I thought. I told him I needed to initialize this service class so I could call the method from this class. He didn't get it. I had to move the screen up and down to find the lines and read the questions to him.

At the end, he was talking to himself, stating they changed code a lot. Anyway, he finally got it and asked me to write the code. I just started writing when he told me time was up. I was confused. Only half an hour had passed. I thought it must be the end of this interview, so I said I had to go to the next one. It turned out I still had half an hour left until the next one.

Then, the next lady came. Her application was frozen for some reason, and she had to keep trying. Finally, she decided to reboot her computer.

Overall, it made me feel that the company must have a very relaxed work environment so that employees can afford to be careless sometimes. The interviewers all had worked there for quite a long time.

Questions

The system design question was to design a banking system. The case study was the same as previously mentioned. The coding question was very easy, with a lot of wording. Too bad the interviewer didn't understand the question himself.
