Pros

A great salary, benefits package, and bonus.

A good learning opportunity. You'll be challenged to learn a lot, fast.

A distributed team (most team members telecommuted 100%).

Smart, professional co-workers with a sense of humor.

A not-so-messy Perl codebase with lots of tests.

A mature Agile process, which helps teams function well.

Emphasis on documentation, so there are written procedures for doing some complex tasks.

New initiative to automate as much as possible (example: minimal manual QA).

Lunch-and-Learn sessions, in which a speaker gives a presentation during lunch.

Cons
  • Too many communication tools (email, multiple flavors of IM, multiple ways of doing voice chat, video conferencing, screen shares, pair programming, message boards, wiki, Slack, etc.), which sometimes cause communication to go haywire.
Advice to Management

Keep streamlining the organization. Improve communication within the organization and renew the commitment to keep people in the loop as much as possible.
