Software Engineer Interview Experience - United Kingdom

Process

The introductory HR screen, where they discussed the company, seemed fine. However, the HR representative didn't appear very confident in judging what a software engineer actually is. They asked whether a developer can do what a software engineer does. This felt like a flawed hiring system where any slight change in wording caused them to lose the ability to make a judgment on a candidate's CV/profile. Moreover, they didn't seem to understand the differences between various programming roles.

After chasing for my take-home assignment a week later, this company decided to ignore me. There was no response. Apparently, it's acceptable to ghost a candidate who has already invested over four hours into their process.

Totally broken.
