Interviewed in person across a table in a cubicle.
He asked me questions about myself, my interests, and how I got to where I am today. It was relatively laid-back, but he also seemed pretty intense.
It was nice because they gave instant feedback, with no long pauses. He would respond with "Oh, that's good to hear, that's the kind of person we are looking for" type responses.

Pros: Good work, IEEE standard-setting groups, with lots of different work opportunities and groups. The company pays for a lot of training. Courses at Berkeley or Stanford are free if you get at least a B.
Cons: Company mood is highly correlated with stock price. Your experience depends on the group that you are in. Cisco is really 20 different companies joined as one.

Pros: Great team, lots of talented people.
Never had a better experience with such knowledgeable and approachable co-workers.
Big company with lots of resources.
Great benefits and time-off.
Good work/life balance.
Cons: Upper management makes arbitrary changes in organization and goals that rarely improve the business and often frustrate our efforts.
Very little internal R&D. They prefer to acquire or spin out, then spin in new ideas.
Office facilities are out of date, with grungy carpets and cubicles.

Pros: Great HR policies, benefits, and good pay.
Liked it before the 2007 recession days. Not any more.
Cons: No respect, no recognition, too much nasty politics and backstabbing, stereotype managers in Engineering.
Too much unstable management.
