My negative rating is due to the company radio silence after I handed in my take-home exercise, even after nudging them and getting a promise from the recruiter that I would receive an answer. I consider it normal to not get an answer during the application/resume review phase. However, after two interviews and a lengthy take-home exercise, it seems to me quite unprofessional to ghost the candidate. Recruiters have templates, and it should take them less than a minute to send a negative answer. Another issue was bad video/audio quality, which is ironic given we used the company's own software. I don't give too much importance to this, though, since it might have been an isolated incident. Phases: 1. Call with recruiter. 2. Interview with manager, including coding exercise and behavioral questions. 3. Take-home exercise.
Talk about what you did in your previous role.
