Pros

Contracting pay is above average, and contracts can go on for years. Once you've been employed at Cisco, the chances of being able to always find work there are very good.

Cons

No overtime paid despite pressures to often work over 40 hours per week. Very "corporate" environment. Getting a full-time job is not likely, and there is a large gap between contractor wages and full-time, even with benefits included.

Advice to Management

Often, projects are taken on that really have no intrinsic value to the company or customer. Pay attention to the amount of money being wasted on just trying to look busy, rather than productive.
