Cisco might be a good company for an inexperienced engineer to start their career, but not a place to stay longer

Pros

This company would hire inexperienced, newly graduated college students and give them the chance to choose groups and teams to work with.

Cons

In Cisco, half of the people are contributing, and the other half are blocking others from contributing to the company. There are various internal wars. Some people survive there well only by complimenting others, rather than contributing. Also, some technical leaders do not qualify for their jobs, and they twist other developers to follow their ideas to earn credits for themselves.

Advice to Management

Hire qualified persons to be managers, technical leaders, and developers. Open channels to listen to low-level developers' opinions.
