Pros

Long history of network experience with a huge information base in networking technologies provides a rich source of strong network skills for learning.

Cisco is composed of several business units (departments), each acting as a separate company. This provides a great opportunity for internal transfer with a great change of experience and technology.

Cons

Focus on execution-oriented performance most of the time.

Not a good place for Ph.D. graduates because of a lack of support for research.

Advice to Management

It would be more productive if management considered more realistic models of execution and tried to think outside the box to achieve customer requirements, instead of the usual push-down model.
