Pros

Very flexible work environment: working from home is easy, as is taking time off.

Initial on-the-job learning is good, and the networking software development experience gained was valuable.

Enjoy working with helpful colleagues.

Cons

Compensation growth is mediocre, and I do not see people getting adequate reward for performance from management.

It may be the nature of the game, but there is no cohesiveness in the execution of goals and deliverables.

There is always a last-minute scramble to push products out, and there are too many branches and people touching the same code for clean code development.

There is no encouragement for training and personal development from management; you have to push it on your own.

Advice to Management

Management needs to take a personal and proactive role in encouraging training and technical development.

The execution of projects also needs to be better planned and implemented more smoothly.

Performance needs to be given its due in a timely manner.

Recurring layoffs every 6 months irreparably hurt the green card process for many employees; this could have easily been avoided by doing layoffs once a year.
