Software Developer Interview Experience - Chicago, Illinois

Process

I applied for the software engineering internship program.

First, I had an on-campus interview, which consisted of three straightforward interviews: two technical and one behavioral.

This was followed by an on-site interview at their Chicago office. The experience was bizarre, as they asked me a completely nonsensical question (see below). They also asked me to take the derivative of a random polynomial, which I found odd.

I heard back the following week, stating that I did not receive an offer.

Questions

Given an 8x8 chessboard, write code to calculate the number of ways you can go from the top-left corner to the bottom-right corner, given that you can go down, up, left, and right.
