I applied for a New Grad role and completed two technical rounds and one hiring manager round.
I felt like they went really well, but after the hiring manager round, there was a recruiter wrap-up. She asked if I was eligible to work without visa sponsorship in the US.
I knew Confluent sponsors H1B, so I said I would need one. After that, she mumbled an incoherent excuse and cut the call.
I received the rejection two days later.
I'm okay with being rejected over that. It's just that if you don't want to sponsor a candidate, please look at their visa status BEFORE putting them through interviews. Stop wasting everyone's time.
