The process:
There is a complete disconnect between what the HR says will be the hiring process and what it actually is. HR told me there would be a single technical call with the manager and only 4 calls in total. In practice, there were 2 technical screens and a total of 5 calls.
What HR told me to expect for each call and what the calls were actually about were literally polar opposites. HR told me the call with the director would focus on values, and that's what I prepared for. The word "values" was not mentioned even once. Instead, the director grilled me about industry strategy, despite that not having the slightest bit of relevance to the role I was applying for. Overall, it was clear that the director did not want to be interviewing me and was looking for ways to make me fail.
