Web Developer Interview Experience - United States

Process

The initial screen from a recruiter involved basic questions. The recruiter discussed the role and qualifications but failed to provide an accurate overview of the role and its requirements.

A second phone screen probed knowledge further but did not cover the actual scope of work the job entailed.

The in-person interview was an undisclosed 2-hour session. The recruiter failed to mention this, nor that there would be whiteboard examples and theoretical discussions on topics not disclosed or mentioned in the job advertisement, essentially setting candidates up for failure.

The interview process overall was extremely disjointed and jarring. It felt more like an exercise for the staff to interview rather than a serious consideration of a candidate.
