Pros

Very good R&D environment, competitive technical learning and evolving, nice techy people to grow with, salary on par with the market.

Cons

Poor project/program management. Very dictatorial leadership, right from the CEO, after Dell took over. They imposed personal business aspirations on the company's roadmap, especially in the Chennai location. Micro-management pressures exist as managers do not have management capability. There are day-to-day pressures, even in matters of in/out time. The process for performance evaluations needs to be revamped.

Advice to Management

Keep a routine check on executive-level goals, especially on intentions. Recruit real managers – do not push technical people into management roles. Check your process for performance evaluations.
