I was matched with them through AngelList.
An interview was set up via conversational email. The interview was a 10-minute phone call with a recruiter. Needless to say, it was a very bad experience, probably the worst interview I have had.
The recruiter mentioned her name and went straight into asking questions. Questions included: "Have you used our service?" and "What positions are you interested in?"
The most awkward part was their insistence on knowing every single detail about who I had interviewed with previously, the companies' names, the early stages of their recruiting processes, and job offers. Most of the 10 minutes passed in that section, and they never contributed to the conversation in any way.
It was a process of asking basic questions, taking notes, and, based on that simplistic interview, expecting to determine if a candidate is a good fit for the company without any technical knowledge or actual two-way conversation.
They said they would contact me in a week if there would be a second interview with a "technical guy" for 15 minutes. Wow, that's a major upgrade. From 10 minutes to a 15-minute conversation with a technical person.
It's simply disrespectful to base the future of a company and their hiring process on such a fast-paced, streamlined approach.
What is the most important thing you look for in a company?
