Pros: Good pay for the area. Good food.

Cons: • Very poor COVID-19 response (trying to get everyone back on campus, holding large in-person meetings) • Can be expected to work well above 40 hrs/week • A bad Team Lead will make your job miserable • Black-box management

Pros: Full stack design and development. Development on multiple platforms. Ownership of functional areas regardless of tenure. No big ladder to climb, but increasing scope of responsibilities. Developers involved in design, customer presentations, feedback, vendor relations, and conferences. Good vacation. Great salary. Get to work with very smart and competent developers. Small team feel, even at a large company.

Cons: Some lack of transparency; project planning can get interrupted by company-wide initiatives; some processes are clunky (though there is continuous improvement).

Pros: If you're a smart, hard-working go-getter, in it for yourself, and mind your own business, you can do very well here. They pay very well, and you can learn a lot about healthcare.

Cons: You are treated as a cog in a machine. They keep you as long as you are useful, and when you cease to be useful, they get rid of you. There are a lot of politics: If you cross someone in power, they will make your life miserable to push you out. You are always on call and leadership has very little training in terms of leading and building teams. As far as "Diversity and Inclusion" -- they are diverse only in the ways which suit them. Also, the technical skills I learned here did not translate well to the wider world of development outside of healthcare. The things they are doing are either unique to healthcare or wildly outdated.
