The process started with an email requesting basic information from the HR Recruiter. This was followed by an HR screening interview with basic questions about my experience and my last job (nothing technical).
Next, they set up a phone interview with a technical manager. This interview was entirely technical. The manager asked:
Unfortunately, the process never progressed to a personable interview, where they could learn what makes me different from other developers and why they'd want to hire me specifically. This was a missed opportunity.
It's also worth noting that I had initially applied for a Software Engineer in Test position, but the recruiter recommended this role instead. Since then, every other job I've applied to at Expedia, regardless of my qualifications, has resulted in a rejection before the interview stage. The interview itself went well, so I'm uncertain about the reason for these rejections. However, if possible, ace the interview the first time around!
