Huge transformation in the company profit, product, and culture since I joined. A significant amount, or nearly all, of the toxic leadership and the old engineering "way of doing things" culture is gone, which is HUGE. The company is headed in the right direction, and I am proud to say I work here.
Salary is great, and I live a comfortable life with good work-life balance. The education track program for new employees to learn different facets of the company is fantastic. There are many brilliant people at the company with so much incredible knowledge.
You will work really hard on some teams, and communication on deliverables and annual reviews could use some work. Some people won't like how salary negotiations and annual reviews are done, but once again, communication with your direct leader is going to make things much better.
Degree requirements for leadership roles are honestly stupid, and some people who are brilliant engineers make some of the worst people leaders I've ever seen. This has gotten much better over the years, but it's still a problem in some teams.
Strip degree requirements for more people leadership roles in engineering. There are so many highly intelligent people that I work with that don't get a fair shake because of a degree they obtained 10-20+ years ago. Experience and empathy for fellow coworkers are far more valuable than being able to do calculus proofs.
The first round interview was done by on-campus recruiters. It started with a "why GM" question, followed by 4-5 behavioral questions, with a little time at the end to ask them your questions. This was followed by an online assessment to judge fit an
Heard back about a month after applying. Scheduled interview for next week, and they rescheduled on me. Single-round interview with engineers from the department I am working at, with behavioral and resume technical questions.
My experience was excellent from start to finish. The entire process went very smoothly and was handled with great professionalism. Both the HR team and the managers were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and supportive throughout. Everything was well
