Pros

The product is great and has a good reputation among customers. It is also a pleasure to use within the company.

The employees are pleasant and want to do their best. I have met many friendly colleagues who are willing to answer questions and support each other.

Cons
  • Management is not transparent, and their actions are inconsistent with their words.
  • For instance, vacation time is changed without prior notice, and there is a very harmful process for diluting stock which decreases your equity over time. Even outside of fundraising, the CEO is always creating new shares and diluting you. When employees raise concerns through company Q&A, leadership gives vague promises but takes little action.
  • There is a lack of clear direction for the product. Some projects may not be meaningful or motivating to work on, leading to employees (especially the immature managers) prioritizing their own personal gain over company progress.
  • The engineering quality is weak. Many employees are careless and rely on others instead of taking responsibility, which often leads to more problems.
  • There is unhealthy pressure to be extremely positive. Constructive criticism is not encouraged, and technical discussions can become focused on people's emotions.
Advice to Management

Focus on results and quality over people's egos.
