Pros: Having Goldman Sachs on your resume is a big selling point. You will get a ton of recruiters reaching out to you and will not have difficulty getting interviews.

Cons: The developer experience here is absolutely horrible. It will be very apparent to you that developers are treated as third-class citizens at this firm; their needs and wants (whether it be budget or tools) are afterthoughts. In addition, if you are a senior or high-performing engineer coming here from another firm, you will likely be disappointed at the level of talent. This is also an ultra-conservative dinosaur company, so perks like work from home are rare.

Pros: People are open to receiving and giving constructive feedback regularly. For Software Engineers specifically, you get the chance to work on a lot of different parts of software development: * Gathering user requirements * Translating the requirements into code * Testing * Deploying technology

Cons: Low pay compared to competitors in the tech industry. Even the top performers were making less than the average performer at competing tech companies. Reviews and bonuses can be arbitrary and be based off of office politics. Some of the tooling can feel a bit outdated as well.

Pros: Great reputation, good salary, decent leadership.

Cons: No work-life balance. They pay well, but make you do the work of two to three people.
