I had an initial call with a recruiter. She explained in general terms what the company is doing.
Later, I had a technical interview. The interview was mostly about the basics of Java.

Q: What is the difference between checked and unchecked exceptions?
Q: How do you know if an exception is checked or unchecked?
Q: How do you write a program that throws exceptions but eventually returns a value, without catching the exception?
Q: What is the difference between LinkedList and ArrayList in terms of performance for get, add, delete, and insert?
Q: What's the difference between an inner class and a static inner class?

Pros: We work as a team; we win as a team. No thought, idea, or suggestion goes unnoticed, and people are encouraged to drive and push innovation in every aspect they care about, whether it's personal, technical, inspirational, or just fun.
There are obviously so many more pros, as I see it, but as well as cons, this is highly individual.
Cons: Too many operating principals! As it goes for the pros, it depends on the person. If you're not up for a fast-paced, no-sugar-coating culture where people want to hear what you have to say, then perhaps we are not a best fit, but I'd suggest you reconsider.

Excitement, but with WLB

Pros: It's not your standard software job. You're at the forefront of innovation, and you can feel it.
The sales team who share our office also use the product themselves, and you can really see the impact on the end user. It's a strong motivator.
The 3 days in office policy (you can choose which) is a perfect balance, in my opinion.
Brilliant and nice people all around – and above you.
Cons: The company is transitioning from a startup to a well-established market leader, which does come with challenges for engineers. It's interesting if you like a challenge, but it's not for everyone.

Pros: When the leadership is so smart, ideological, and people-driven, everything aligns to create a great working environment where all your needs are taken care of, even the needs you don't have.
There is something very genuine about Gong. When this company sets out to do something, it is fully committed. It's not about making an impression; it's about doing what you say you are going to do.
So, when Gong says that creating raving fans is the number one important thing to do, and that includes creating raving fans from employees, they do exactly that, and they do it well.
Cons: Someday I may need to work in another place, but what place will be able to compete?
