The recruiter contacted me via direct mail, as I had applied through their site one year prior. The initial questions were intriguing, but the discussion soon went in another direction. The interviewers didn't bother to correct this or steer the conversation back to the point. For a system design solution within a 45-minute timeframe, they should have specified their expectations and the areas they were focusing on.
