SRE Manager Interview Experience - Berlin, Germany

Process

Very long, 10 interviews, plus many talks with recruiters. There were 3 phone interviews, then 5 "on-site" (virtual due to COVID) interviews. As the result in 2 of them was not so good, they suggested re-doing them with 2 new interviewers.

At the beginning, they said they had many positions for that role in 3 different locations: Munich, Zurich, and the UK. After all the interviews, they said that they only had 1 position in Munich.

Such a waste of time. All interviewers and recruiters are arrogant. They don't do it directly, but it is clear that they think they are superior because they work at Google. They need to check if you are good enough for them, and you should be happy they are looking at you.

For the interviews, you need to study and learn what they expect you to do/say, and do/reply everything in the "Google accepted way," or you will fail. There is no other way, just one way of doing things: their way (#NoDiversity #NoCreativity).
