Process
A series of interviews took place in Dublin during a 2-day workshop. Approximately 30 people from all over Europe were flown in to participate. Their roles included architecture, SRE, and engineering. A lot of preparation was involved, such as refreshing and reading material, and talking to some Googlers for explanations about the role.

Pros: Smart coworkers, good benefits, and (originally) a strong goal to change the world for the better.
Cons: Hired too many senior leaders with questionable moral compasses, ignored the fact that their technical lead in many areas was rapidly declining, became arrogant in their success, and refused to acknowledge that the exodus of many mid-level leaders indicated a big problem.
