The Codility test was the first round. It consisted of 3 coding questions which had to be solved in 180 minutes. I scored more than 90/100.
Two back-to-back tech interviews, an hour each.
First round, I was interviewed by a junior engineer who was engaging and amiable but wanted solutions to the problems in a certain way. One LC medium and one hard question were asked, and I produced working code: find the maximum among ancestors and nodes in a binary tree, and merge n sorted lists.
The system design round was on Facebook Messenger. The interviewer clearly lacked experience to conduct SD rounds. Nevertheless, I felt I went in the right direction, as this is a popular topic for high-level SD, and I was well-prepared for it.
I received an automated rejection email the same night from Grab, and I had to confirm with the recruiter that it was for the same position. This was very unprofessional behavior from HR, as I don't even know the reason for the rejection.
