The interviewer was the nicest interviewer I've ever met. I was unsure about Groupon going in, but he makes it seem like a great place to work. I am truly impressed by the caliber of people that they have, and I am very grateful to the interviewer for making one of my first interview experiences go so smoothly.

Pros: The scale at which Groupon operates is phenomenal. People who are early in their careers (less than 5 years) will learn a lot.
Can't say the pay is the best, but it is good.
My manager pays a lot of attention towards work-life balance and learning, and this seems to be a company culture.
There are mid-year promotions and raises.
Cons: - There is a lot of undocumented legacy code.
- Sometimes WLB takes a toll; meetings start at 10 in the morning and are scheduled for nights too.
- The product and engineering is going through a lot of change.

Pros: Having fun is one of the company's core values. The company has very smart people who are great to work with. They are open to me working remotely, offer unlimited PTO, free food, and great perks.
Cons: Scattershot strategy - different business units sometimes pull in different directions, putting strain on the groups (like mine) that serve all of them.
As groups have grown from start-up mode, they still retain the lightweight business processes that work for small teams. However, in some cases, more structure is needed when teams get larger.
