Two phone screens:
Onsite interview with the Lead Engineer and VP.
The interview included the usual questions, a technical scenario, and a behavioral question with the VP.
I must note that during all of the phone interviews, the position was presented as Director level. At no time was I informed of a change. During the onsite interview, I could tell by the types of questions asked that the interview was for a manager position. Given my doubts about the face-to-face interview process, I asked the HR representative if there had been some misunderstanding. The representative merely stated that the position had changed to manager. I was very unhappy about this and informed the representative that she should have notified me of the change and that I found the process to be very unprofessional. I felt that the process was a bait and switch. I declined to continue the interview process after that initial onsite.
Given our current architecture, what would you do to improve scalability and throughput?
